Sizilien Filme:

"Der Leopard" von Lucchino Visconti hab ich leider doch nicht gefunden
bei mir.  Den Taviani Film hab ich auch nicht, aber der ist eher zu
dörflich.  Gefunden hab ich die zwei besten Mafia Filme, "Die Macht
hat ihren Preis" und "Warum mußte Staatsanwalt Traini sterben?"

DAS klassische politische Mafia Drama. Spielt in Palermo, und geht
dann über Neapel nach Rom. Lino Ventura als Polizeikommissar ermittelt
in einer geheimnisvollen Mordserie gegen Staatsanwälte, und entdeckt
eine Verschwörung die bis ganz nach oben reicht. Das Ende des Films
ist klassisch.

Typische Rosi Mafia Bilder: Bauskandale in Sizilien und Neapel, die
ursprüngliche dörfliche Kultur, der moderne Staatsapparat, die
Oberschicht, keine Verbrecher oder Killer sind jemals im Bild.

mysterious murders of some Supreme Court judges. During the
investigation he discovers a complot that involves the Italian
Communist Party..."

Fact based story about the political battle that was waged against the
Mafia in Sicily during the late 1980's and early 1990's.
They have a name for government officials who defy the
mafia...excellent cadavers.

Es gibt auch ein schlechtes Remake "Excellent Cadavers (1999)": 
"This docudrama about the men who tried to bring down the Palermo mafia
could have been much more."


"Warum mußte Staatsanwalt Traini sterben?" aka 
"Perché si uccide un magistrato?" (1974)

Der kleine unabhängige Journalist Solaris (Franco Nero) auf der Suche
nach dem wahren Mörder von Staatsanwalt Traini, ist volkstümlicher als
Lino Ventura. Er vermutet eine anderen Täter als den von der Polzei
vorgeschobenen und deckt die Baumafia in Palermo auf.

Es gibt übrigens noch einen anderen Film "Confessione di un
commissario di polizia al procuratore della repubblica (1971)", vom
Damiani in dem Franco Nero den Staatsanwalt Traini
spielt. ("Confessions of a Police Captain")

IMDB: "One of the first films about the mafia occurrence, in which the
fight is hopeless, because "the polyp's feeler" reaches everything and
everybody. A police inspector (Martin Balsam) and a deputy public
prosecutor (Franco Nero) try to prove that the architect in the city
is in the mafia.
